Wayne College to host Old Fashioned Holiday at the Farmhouse
The University of Akron Wayne College’s popular annual community event, Old Fashioned Holiday at the Farmhouse is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30, 3-6 p.m. in the Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse.
Free and open to the public, this family-friendly event will be packed with activities for all ages including pictures with Santa, children's crafts, refreshments, live reindeer and horse drawn wagon rides provided by Spring Mist Farms.
The Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse, located at 1901 Smucker Road, is the oldest two-story house in the Orrville area. Originally built in 1818, the College renovated the structure in 2005 with modern conveniences and technology to make it a usable part of the campus community, while maintaining the historic feel and rustic charm.
"We're proud to be the stewards of such a historical building," stated Jarrod Tudor, Ph.D., dean of Wayne College. "The Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse is the perfect backdrop for this event. We look forward to families coming out and making great holiday memories."
No reservations necessary. For more information call 330-683-2010 or email waynecommunityrelations@uakron.edu.
