Holiday music played softly in UA Wayne's Community Room as students enjoyed Mental Health Stress Relief and "Attitude of Gratitude" activities during the Thankful for ROO! event which took place Tuesday, Nov. 19th through Thursday, Nov. 21st. Tables were set up in multiple stations so students and UA Wayne employees could relax and get into the holiday and thankful spirit.
Regarding this new event at Wayne College, Jeanette Montgomery, Coordinator of Student Engagement and Campus Events, said, "Gratitude is not only a feeling, but a choice that we make. That’s why I am so pleased that students enjoyed the Thankful For ROO! events that Wayne College hosted - both events that expressed our gratitude to our students, faculty and staff, as well as reflective activities to appreciate what we have to be thankful for. The top activities that students loved were: writing letters and cards to scholarship donors, stuff a plush, and painting rocks. We also had students write what they were thankful for on a leaf cutout and hang it on our “collage of gratitude.” We will definitely be making Thankful for ROO! a yearly event.
