Wayne College Alumni Association Seeks Distinguished Alumni Nominations

The University of Akron Wayne College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award. The nominated individual must have earned at least 30 credit hours at the Wayne College campus in Orrville. The recipient will be recognized during the Wayne College Graduate Recognition Event on May 10, 2013 and their name will be added to a notable alumni plaque.

Last year’s recipient was David Lehman, President and CEO of Mennonite Mutual Insurance Company, located in Orrville.

Nominations can be made by anyone in the community. Forms and guidelines are available online at www.wayne.uakron.edu/alumni. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 1, 2013.

The University of Akron Wayne College is celebrating 40 years of serving the educational needs of local residents, and since its founding in 1972, has played a part in educating over 40,000 students. It is a regional campus of The University of Akron and offers the first two years of general bachelor’s degree courses for students who intend to complete their studies at the Akron campus or another college or university along with a number of associate degree programs. Wayne College also offers a Bachelor of Organizational Supervision (BOS) degree, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and upper level social work classes. Additionally, the College offers a number of noncredit, professional development classes.
