If you enjoy working with others to make decisions impacting student learning and growth, the University of Akron, College of Education Principalship degree offered locally at Wayne College via distance learning might be right for you.

This 30-credit hour master’s degree paired with an additional 12 post-master’s hours for licensure will prepare graduates for employment in public, private, correctional, community and alternative schools as site-based principals and assistant principals. Coursework includes a focus on educational leadership, organizational theory, management, leadership and instructional evaluation. The principal licensure program provides opportunities for leadership as a teacher leader, department chair or central office position such as curriculum director.

The classes are taught by distinguished faculty members on The University of Akron campus and are offered at satellite locations including Wayne College in Orrville via real-time distance learning technology. This format allows students at outreach locations to interact with professors in real-time while also providing a classroom setting that promotes student collaboration.

Teachers may qualify for an innovative incentive that will award up to $2,000 in tuition scholarships.
