For those attending college right after high school
If you're graduating from a regionally accredited Ohio high school and have never attended college before, you're a new freshman.
What you need
- Your high school transcript or GED scores
- ACT/SAT scores (optional!)
No test? No problem. You’ll still be considered for admission and scholarships.

- ACT: 3267
- SAT: 1892

The College Credit Plus Program was created by the state Legislature to allow all students to enroll in a college or university to earn dual high school and college credit. The program is available to qualified public, private, parochial or home school students.
For students who have attended another college or university
Whether you’ve earned an associate degree or just took some classes elsewhere, we’ll work with you to transfer as many credits as possible.
What you need
- Transcripts from each college or university attended
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (students below 2.0 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
For students who graduated high school 3+ years ago

For students who studied outside the U.S.
Welcome! International admissions are handled through UA’s main campus.

Already have a bachelor’s degree and want to earn another one?
You can apply to take undergrad-level classes or pursue a second degree. Be sure to select Postbaccalaureate when applying.
Enrolled at another school but want to take classes at Wayne?
You’re welcome to take a few courses here and transfer the credits back.
Tip: Get written approval from your home institution for the courses you plan to take.
Students on academic dismissal from their home school cannot attend as guests.

All R.N./L.P.N.s must request a transcript from nursing schools attended.
- The application deadline to begin in the summer (May/June) or the fall semester (August) is April 15. To begin in the spring semester (January), the deadline is October 15.
- Complete the Undergraduate Admission Application
Check the box marked College Credit Plus Program - Complete the Signature page and permission slip
Signatures are required by the student, the parent or guardian, and the school counselor - Submit an official school transcript
For applicants in the 7th grade, the transcript should include 6th and 5th grades
For applicants in the 8th grade, transcripts should include 7th and 6th grades. - Submitting ACT or SAT scores is optional, but strongly preferred
- Testing must be completed prior to the application deadline

What's Next
Fees & Payments Deadlines
Your fees and payment deadlines will be available in Workday. Please check your University of Akron email and Workday accounts regularly for important information.
Assessment Testing
Complete assessment testing in reading, math and English in order to be placed in appropriate courses. Meet with an academic adviser for proper placement and scheduling assistance.
Orientation
All admitted students must attend a mandatory orientation to enroll in the program. Application deadlines are subject to change. Submission of test scores is subject to change.
Rolling Admissions
UA Wayne operates under a policy of rolling admissions, which means you will receive a letter of admission as soon as your credentials are on file with us. However, no decision can be made final until complete credentials are received, and all admissions requirements are completed. Because of that, there is no established date for notification since it is an ongoing procedure.
