Three Wayne College Students Chosen to Present Research
Student Innovation Symposium in Akron Showcases Work of Honor Students
Three honors students from The University of Akron Wayne College presented their research projects at the 9th Annual UA Student Innovation Symposium (UASIS) on April 11. The students, Richard Brewer, Tannya Forcone and Stephanie Rickert are all members of the Wayne College Distinguished Student Program, which seeks to recognize and encourage excellence among academically talented students at Wayne College. The research projects were completed during fall semester and are an important component of the curriculum. The projects are independent study, with topics chosen by the students.
Wayne College hosts Jim Tressel at Open House
Those attending the recent open house at the University of Akron Wayne College were treated to a number of added activities. In addition to campus tours, information about degree programs and financial aid, Zippy cookies and a visit from Zippy the school’s mascot, visitors received a colorful plastic Hawaiian lei and the chance to talk with Jim Tressel.

UA Bachelor in Business Administration More Info
• Two-year completion program for those with an associate degree in business management technology
• Taught by professors from UA’s College of Business Administration, a nationally recognized school of business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
UA Bachelor of Arts in Social Work
• Open to students who have completed their associate degree in social service technology or who have completed the first two years of courses leading to a bachelor’s degree in social work
• Taught by professors from UA’s School of Social Work, which is an accredited program through the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

The University of Akron's Saturday MBA program will begin at Wayne College this fall. Specifically designed to meet the needs of working professionals, the classes are held two Saturdays per month for two years with the in-class experience supplemented through online technology. Students take three courses per semester (7-9 credits) using this hybrid in-class and online format. Program details are available here
