Veterans Invited to Wayne College for Luncheon
The University of Akron Wayne College invites area veterans to a luncheon featuring Army veteran and Ohio State Senator Frank LaRose Monday, Nov. 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Student Life Building. The event is free for veterans, but seating is limited. Registration is required at http://wayne.uakron.edu/webforms/rsvp/veterans.dot or by calling 330-684-8729.
In addition to lunch catered by Old Carolina BBQ and Dravenstott’s Restaurant, representatives from Wayne College, The University of Akron, and area support organizations will be on hand to provide information to veterans on the services that are available to them as former members of the military.
“We are proud to have been named a military-friendly school again this year,” says UA Wayne College Interim Dean Dr. Daniel Deckler. “This is a way for us to honor our student veterans and those in the community who have served, and connect them with the resources they need to be successful after military service.”
The Veterans Day Luncheon is presented as part of the College’s Community Connections Special Events Series. For information on upcoming events, visit wayne.uakron.edu/community/ and click on the Special Events Series box.
UA Wayne College is a regional branch of The University of Akron, offering associate and bachelor’s degree programs, in addition to an AACSB-accredited Saturday MBA Program through the UA College of Business.
