Free Financial Aid Paperwork Assistance at UA Wayne College

01/14/2014

Getting a college education is more important than ever in today’s challenging job market, but finding the money for college can be difficult. In an effort to help students start the sometimes overwhelming financial aid search, The University of Akron Wayne College is offering financial aid workshops at a variety of times and dates to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA is the federal application that is required to receive federal financial aid including the Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as the need-based state grants. Studies show that a student is 50% more likely to attend college when they complete the FAFSA.

While walk-ins are welcome, families are encouraged to register in advance for the free workshop that best fits their schedule:

The last workshop is scheduled for April 5 from 9:00 a.m.-noon in room A-225 of the College’s Main Building located at 1901 Smucker Rd., Orrville.
Register by calling the Wayne College Student Services Center at 330-684-8942.

Please bring a photo ID and 2013 federal tax returns for student and parents, or W2’s if taxes have not been completed, as well as your social security number, 2013 untaxed income records, other records of money earned, current bank statements and investment records.

The deadline for the Wayne College Scholarship Application is March 1 and is available online at wayne.uakron.edu/admissions/financial-aid/scholarships.dot.
