Wayne College Freezes Tuition for Second Year

08/08/2014

Frozen TuitionAs part of its commitment to affordability, The University of Akron Wayne College is instituting a tuition freeze for the second straight academic year, allowing students to take classes during the 2014-2015 academic year at the 2012-2013 tuition rate.

According to interim dean Dan Deckler, “Wayne College is making every effort to keep college affordable for local students. The tuition freeze is an example of that, as well as an increase in the number of scholarships awarded by the College.”

For the 2013-2014 academic year Wayne College awarded a record 290 scholarships totaling $300,000 and hopes to exceed that number for 2014-2015.

The tuition freeze covers the entire academic year and keeps Wayne College tuition 30% less than most four-year public colleges and universities in Ohio. Tuition for the Saturday MBA has also been frozen for the upcoming two-year program beginning in the fall. The only classes at Wayne College excluded from the tuition freeze are upper level bachelor degree completion courses.
