Wayne College Accepting Distinguished Alumni Nominations

The University of Akron Wayne College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award. The award recognizes graduates who have shown leadership in the workplace and community. Nominees must have earned at least 30 credit hours at Wayne College in Orrville or at the Holmes Campus in Millersburg.

This year’s recipient was Martha Hagen McGuire ('78) who began her education at Wayne College, achieving an associate degree before continuing her studies at The University of Akron where she earned a BS in industrial management. Today, she delivers human resource solutions to Rockwell Automation's 22,000 employees in 80 countries.

Nominations may be made by anyone in the community. Forms and guidelines are available at wayne.uakron.edu/alumni. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 15, 2016. The winner will be recognized at UA Wayne College's Graduate Recognition Ceremony in May.

UA Wayne College is a regional branch of The University of Akron and offers associate and certificate programs as well as the first two years of general bachelor’s degree courses for students who intend to complete their studies at the Akron campus or another college or university. Bachelor’s degrees offered in their entirety on the Orrville campus include social work and organizational supervision.
