Wayne College Announces Events to Help Navigate the College Process
A recent online article in the Washington Post states a four year degree continues to be worth the investment. In many cases, cost is the single most important determining factor when choosing a college. As college costs have risen, students have been looking for more affordable options and many have found attending a regional branch of a university is their best value.
Wayne College is a regional branch of The University of Akron and provides the first two years of general coursework at an affordable rate. Students earn credits toward a UA degree that can be transferred to other four year institutions, making it a great way to save money. To learn more, attend the next Campus Visit Day, Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. Take a tour, learn about areas of study, talk to representatives about the many clubs and organizations on campus, and learn about financial aid opportunities. RSVP at http://wayne.uakron.edu/campusvisitday/ or call 330-684-8912.
The first step to finding money for college is completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The process can be overwhelming, but representatives from Wayne College can help. Attend a FAFSA workshop Feb. 7, Feb. 28, March 7 or April 18, 9 a.m.-noon. These workshops are free and open to the public. Call 330-684-8909 to register.
“Wayne College has everything students are looking for,” says Sarah Morrow, admissions counselor. “We offer personal attention with small class sizes and world class professors who bring real life experiences into their classrooms, all at an affordable price.”
