The WAYNE COLLEGE Student Writing Awards seek to encourage and recognize excellence in creative writing among students at the College and in area high schools.
These writing awards are open to current college students and to high school students in Wayne, Holmes, and Medina counties and in parts of nearby counties traditionally served by Wayne College.
High school and college students may submit work in the Poetry category (up to 3 poems, limit of 50 lines per poem), in the Short Story category (one story, limit of 2,000 words), and/or in the Personal Essay category (one essay, limit of 2,000 words).
Judging for the WAYNE COLLEGE Student Writing Awards will be done by members of the Wayne College staff. Their decisions are final.
- Dec. 11, 2015, 4:00 p.m. (Friday) - Deadline for submissions
- March 2016 – Winners announced to schools and to the public
Winners will be asked to submit their winning entries in electronic format at this time.
- April 2, 2016 (Saturday) – Writers Workshop and Awards ceremony at Wayne College
