The Wooster/Wayne County area was recently recognized as the third ranked U.S. micropolitan for new business growth according to Site Selection magazine. In fact, for ten consecutive years the local region has contended for or achieved the title of highest performing micropolitan, according to the Wayne County Economic Council's website. What does that mean for the area? It means Wayne County is hiring!

The public is invited to explore employment opportunities at the Wayne County Career Expo Friday, April 21 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the University of Akron Wayne College in the Student Life Building. The event is free and open to students, graduates, and residents from the community.

The career expo will feature over 50 employers and will offer opportunities to network, apply for full-time jobs, part-time jobs, summer jobs, internships and professional career opportunities. In addition there will be 15 social service agencies to assist with resume development, employment resources, career development strategies, networking, and community support services.

“The Wayne County Career Expo is a wonderful opportunity for the unemployed, under employed, or anyone simply seeking a career change to network with area businesses and employers," said Carol Pleuss, coordinator of career and assessment services, Wayne College. "It is also a great opportunity to learn what educational options are available to achieve career goals. Representatives from Wayne College will be on hand to explain the many degree programs we offer that can be earned entirely on the Orrville campus. We encourage everyone to come dressed for success and be ready to start something new."

The Wayne County Career Expo is sponsored by many local organizations including the Wayne County Economic Development Council, the United Way of Orrville, Wayne and Holmes Counties, Ohio Means Jobs of Wayne and Holmes Counties and the Common Good Inc.
