Basic Web Development with HTML, XHTML, CSS & JavaScript
Learn the basic concepts of using HTML/XHTML to create webpage structure, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for style control, and JavaScript for user interactivity.

Dreamweaver
You will learn fine control over every element of your website using Adobe Dreamweaver. Incorporate images, multimedia elements, and properly formatting of text to develop well designed and organized Websites users can easily navigate. (Prerequisite: a basic understanding of HTML/XHTML and CSS.)

Photoshop for Web
With Adobe Photoshop you can define appropriate resolution and compression settings, use the program’s powerful controls to correct colors, adjust lighting, and repair other types of visual damage in your images, create unique artistic effects using filters, adjustments, brushes, and 3D tools, prepare images for Web publication by adding basic animations and defining image slices.

Flash
Build animations and other interactive content; explore basic drawing techniques, and then move on to more advanced techniques such as adding animation and interactivity. Learn how to add the necessary ActionScript code that will move your designs from static to dynamic.

Web Design Certificate Capstone Course
For those wishing to earn their Web Design Certificate, this final capstone course will bring all the elements of the Web Design Series together and put the finishing touches on your Web design project. (This class is designed only for those enrolled in the Web Design Certificate Program)

What is the Employment Outlook?
Nationally, the need for web design computer specialists is expected to grow 15% or faster than average in the next 7 years. In Ohio, salaries for web design associates range from $18.04 per hour to a median hourly wage of over $33 per hour. Those with an associates degree or bachelor’s degree with additional work experience and training can earn up to $48 per hour in Ohio.

Educational Prerequisites & Requirements:
Students should be familiar with basic Internet concepts and the Windows platform, and have the ability to use a Web browser. Students wishing to pursue the Web Design Certificate should have educational and/or work experience with Internet, Windows and/or Design experience.
