

Sharon Logan Kelly, Special Lecturer, began teaching at Wayne College in August 2010 as part of the Health Care Office Management Department. A native of North Carolina, Sharon relocated to Wooster from Texas in 2008. While in Texas, Sharon worked for Texas A&M University as part of the admissions staff. Previously, Sharon worked and taught in the clinical science field for over 15 years with Guthrie Medical System in Sayre, PA, UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, and with Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC. She also served as an adjunct faculty member with The Robert Packer Hospital School of Clinical Sciences, teaching in the fields of Immunology, Immunohematology and Clinical Chemistry.
Sharon is the proud mother of a daughter in the arts management field and a son in his senior year of college. For many years, Sharon has been devoted to community work and mentoring youth. She has received many state and national awards for her mentoring and community projects. In 2000, Lenoir Rhyne University named Sharon as their Outstanding Alumni for Community Service and in 2007, she was named a Woman of Distinction for Central Texas.
Presently, Sharon is obtaining certification from the state of Ohio as a Certified Volunteer Naturalist. A special interest of Sharon’s is environmentalism. She volunteers for the Wayne Sustainable Energy Network, serves on the steering committee for the Wooster Ohio State Campus Scarlet, Gray, and Green Earth Day Fair and is involved with the Local Roots Food Cooperative.
