Dave, who accepted the position as Director of Athletics in August of 2014, has been with Wayne College since 2009 as an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Basketball team. He is a two time graduate of The University of Akron (’99, ’09) and Kent State University (’05) with degrees in social services, sport management, and coaching. Dave has also been a lecturer at The University of Akron in the Sports Science and Wellness Education Department since 2009. His background in college athletics includes stints as a student assistant in the University of Akron and Kent State University Men’s Basketball programs, as well as a Graduate Assistantship in Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes and the CHAMPS/Life Skills program with University of Akron Athletics. Dave was also proud to serve as Games Director for the 2008 JCC Maccabi Games held in Akron. The games, which are weeklong Olympic-style sporting competitions and community service events held each summer in North America drew delegations from 25 different cities across the United States, as well as teams from Israel and Hungary. Dave currently serves on the student affairs committee for the faculty senate, as the faculty advisor to the Akron Against Cancer club on main campus, and as an alumni mentor in the Roo Crew student mentoring program. Dave lives in West Akron with his wife Michelle and their son Ryan.
